One thing I do enjoy about living in the city is all the time riding the train has given me for reading. I just finished reading 'Z: a Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald.' I feel taken with her excitement about the city and all it has to offer with it's 24 hour liveliness, and the creative dreamers energy that flows through the city. On my days off I love to wander the West Village or Union Square taking in the beauty of NYC, and the people who roam it's chilly streets from all over the world. There is truth to the energy everyone speaks of, everyone has somewhere to be and someone to become. I no longer feel that my thoughts, dreams or plans are too weird or far fetched. I no longer feel too "old" or "to young" to do certain things. I no longer feel ashamed for what I have not yet accomplished or that I am not fitting into the certain roll that was meant for me. I no longer feel defeated or behind. I feel alive and more creative than ever. New York has taught me that there are people all over the world who want different things for their future and they are doing what they want, when they want and not feeling guilty or off time. I have met so many people who are at different points in the lives and are here on their way to pursing their dreams. The city seems to be the place for self love, high confidence and the " I don't take no for an answer" kind of attitude. I have found more evidence in the fact that happiness lies in doing what you love and finding balance in you life. For a career path I feel more balanced than ever with set plan. Instead of stressing about what anyone else wants for me I am taking this time to soak up every new experience, lesson, and friendship I can while I am here. I know that NYC will only be a stop along the way for me and that city life is not where my heart belongs. But I will now be thankful and happy to be in New York City for the time I have left and I will never forget all the things I am learning about life, myself, and the world everyday.
With the change of the seasons I took time to look back through some of my photos from shoots or just life of past summers, fall and winter. I wanted to share some of these as a little scrapbook before moving into new things. ~
